Integration Services

Add Integration Services is the collection name for all system integration between Add and other external systems. Data is usually imported to Add but it is also possible to export data from Add into other systems.

Add Active Directory (AD) Import Service

Add AD Import Service imports information from a company's Active Directory into Add. Normally user information is imported from the Active Directory, but it is also possible to import information regarding organisational structures, available resources, and so on. 

Avoid administration of information in several systems

The reason to use Add AD Import Service is to avoid the administration of information in several systems. The Add AD Import Service also works well together with Addsystems´ Single Sign On functionality.  

Communication over the Internet

Since the operation of Add often is run by Addsystems, the prerequisite is that the service communicates over the Internet. The service is therefore divided into two parts.

Add Active Directory (AD) Reader
Add AD Reader is a client application which is installed on one computer in the company network. The application reads and filtrates the Active Directory whereby the information is sent to the Import Web Service.

Import Web Service
The Import Web Service works as an interface between Add AD Reader and Add. This web service, installed on the same web server as Add is installed on, receives information sent over the Internet. This means that Add does not necessarily have to be run in the same network as the company´s Active Directory. The sent data is of course encrypted at all times.

Administrated directly in Add

The administration of what information to import from the Active Directory, as well as how often this should be performed, is made by changing the settings directly in Add´s interface. The import history on the information that has been retrieved from the Active Directory is also stored in Add.
