At Addsystems, we see environment and sustainability as a natural part of our everyday life. For us, it is not about isolated projects or one off initiatives, but about ongoing responsibility in everything we do, from how we develop our platform to how we work internally at the office.


Practising what
we preach
We want to set a good example for our customers. That is why we use Add ourselves as our environmental management system. It helps us work in a structured way with environmental matters, set objectives, follow up, and continuously improve our work. This allows us to both reduce our own environmental impact and inspire our customers to take the same journey.

Our environmental policy
All operations that involve the use of physical resources have an impact on the environment. With our Add platform, we at Addsystems can offer our customers web based solutions for business development that increase efficiency and reduce environmental impact. As a company, we will manage and minimise the environmental impact we cause in a responsible way. This means that we always seek resource efficient ways of working and promote organisational and technical solutions that reduce the use of natural resources. We will present ourselves as a good example, both in our commercial activities and in our internal work. In this way, we want to encourage customers and other stakeholders to make conscious decisions that move society in a sustainable direction. The Add platform gives us unique opportunities to create solutions and ways of working that can significantly improve how our customers enhance their environmental performance and efficiency. When purchasing, we will prioritise products with high quality and long service life. By prioritising reuse, recycling, renewable products, and avoiding products and materials that contain unnatural, environmentally harmful substances, we will strive to continuously improve the environmental performance of our purchasing. We will communicate environmental requirements to our suppliers and encourage them to carry out active environmental work. We prioritise collaboration with environmentally conscious suppliers. All employees will take responsibility for driving the company’s environmental work forward in a proactive way. The company’s environmental manager coordinates the work, and the CEO holds overall responsibility for the results. To enable the best environmental decisions, all employees will have basic knowledge of ecology and relevant environmental competence. For us at Addsystems, it is a given to work preventively with environmental matters and to comply with laws and regulations. We will strive for continuous improvements towards a sustainable society.

We work actively to lower energy use in our premises through efficient routines and modern technology.

We prioritise eco labelled, Nordic Swan Ecolabelled, and locally produced office supplies and food items.

We continuously develop Add to reduce server needs and energy consumption in Microsoft’s Swedish data centres.

Help our customers reduce their impact
With Add as an environmental management system, our customers get smart tools to reduce their environmental impact and work more resource efficiently.
Environmental engagement in everyday work
For us, environmental work is something we do together. We raise environmental topics at least once a month in our internal meetings, and all employees are encouraged to contribute ideas. Through a simple case workflow in Add, we can quickly report improvement suggestions or environmental nonconformities, which are sent directly to our environmental manager. To keep knowledge up to date, everyone reviews our training material every year and refreshes their knowledge of environment and sustainability.

to get involved
We want environmental work to feel engaging and enjoyable. That is why we created an environmental bingo in Add, where employees compete in everyday challenges such as taking the stairs instead of the lift, bringing a packed lunch to the office, or spending an hour outdoors. This makes environmental topics a light hearted part of the workday and something we compete around together.
How we use Add in our environmental work
To tie our environmental work together, we use several of our own solutions:

Add Document management
We collect policies, routines, and instructions, and link all documents to the correct ISO 14001 clause.

KPI dashboard in the intranet.
On the start page, we follow up our key figures and immediately see how environmental work develops over time.

Add Competence management
We gather all environmental training in the competence register and see when it needs renewal.

Add Objectives and action programmes
We set and follow up our environmental objectives with a clear overview of responsibility, timelines, and status.

Add Internal audit
We plan and carry out internal audits, and any audit nonconformities or observations appear on each employee’s start page as tasks to manage.

Add Risk management
We have addressed all environmental risks, created actions, and assigned responsibility. Risks are rated based on likelihood and consequence in Add, which helps us prioritise efforts.

Add Case Management
Improvement suggestions and environmental nonconformities are easy to report and go directly to the environmental manager.

Add Process management
We have mapped our processes to clarify flows and address environmental aspects in the business.

We get an overview of all recurring activities, such as supplier assessments, legal compliance checks, and employee review meetings.
Our progress
By replacing high energy fluorescent tubes with low energy lamps and introducing central lighting control, we have reduced energy consumption in our premises. Our headquarters in Stockholm runs exclusively on wind power, which further reduces our climate footprint. We have also improved our waste sorting and prioritise eco labelled, Nordic Swan Ecolabelled, and locally produced products when purchasing office materials and food items.

Continuous improvement
Looking ahead, we want to continue developing our internal routines while also optimising the Add platform, so that both we and our customers can take the next step towards a more sustainable business. We are aware that work for a better environment is a long term process that requires continuous engagement and attention.
ISO 14001 is proof of how we work
When we were certified to ISO 14001, we did not see it as a starting point, but as confirmation of our already established way of working. The certification quality assures our routines and shows that we manage our environmental work systematically and long term.
